Karen Reynolds
Karen’s speaking career began in high school where she participated in theatre as well as speech and debate competitions. In college her interest in theatre continued while she majored in history and minored in speech communication. After obtaining a degree in law and became a member of the Texas Bar in 1988, Karen practiced law in the areas of criminal defense and family law. She also taught American Government and Constitutional Law at Houston Community College and Delgado Community College in Louisiana until she retired early to raise and homeschool her children.
Karen reentered the world of forensics in 2004 and has coached local and national competitors in speech and debate for the past 5 years. She has also co-coached Mock Trial with her son, Zack, and is taking her first Moot Court team to Washington D.C. this year for competition. Karen continues to teach classes in speech and improvisation to homeschoolers in her area.
Zack Reynolds
In 2009, Zack and his team won third place in the state Mock Trial competition where he was named Best High School Trial Advocate in the state of Texas by the Dallas Bar Association. Zack also received numerous awards in both speech and debate including winning the Regional Policy Debate Championship with his partner in both 2006 and 2008 and taking third place at the National Tournament in 2008. Zack has repeatedly placed in the top four in Best Speaker categories and numerous speech events on the local, regional, and national level. This season, Zack coached his own high school mock trial team and thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to introduce others to the world of forensics he so dearly loves. He will be attending Thomas Aquinas College in the fall of 2010 with further plans to attend law school and pursue a career in litigation.
Adam Muldrow
Adam Muldrow, an Assistant District Attorney for Harris County in Houston, is a home school veteran. After successfully completing an accelerated high school and collegiate program, Adam graduated from the University of Houston's law program in 2007. Since enjoying his own competitive experience in Mock Trial, Adam has coached high-school Mock Trial teams for the past three years and is looking forward to coaching in the future.
Kelsey Crockett
She greatly benefited from two years of education on the Texas State Government at TeenPact Leadership Schools, where she was elected representative and received the highest scoring grade amongst alumni. At TeenPact Judicial, she studied under the law professors at Liberty Law School, and graduated as salutatorian. In her years competing in the NCFCA, she advanced to the regional level in Policy Debate three times, and in Value Debate once. She was invited, for two consecutive years, to the national level in speech. She loves teaching what skills she has acquired, and has served as a student coach for her debate club over her junior and senior years, as well as teaching a policy debate camp over the summer. She is very excited about attending Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA this fall, where she will be pursuing a degree in government. Some of her other passions include U.S. History, playing and teaching music, Jane Austen novels, and just fellowshipping with her friends and little sisters.
At the age of twelve, Zack faced a life or death choice: the podium was before him - his Mother was behind. He chose the podium as the safer alternative and rapidly discovered the realm of competitive forensics which became his much loved habitat for his junior high and high-school years. During his time in competition, Zack participated in speech, debate, and mock trial leagues as well as numerous public speaking events.
Kelsey Crockett is a young woman who is passionate about justice, and who has felt a strong calling from the Lord to pursue an education in law. Her experience with CITE Academy has played a huge role in shaping this goal, where she has participated in Team Policy Debate, Mock Trial, and (her favorite!), Moot Court training and competition.
