Mock Trial provides an opportunity for students to increase their communication and analytical skills in a fun stimulating forum. During training sessions and trial simulations, students will develop critical thinking and public speaking skills while increasing their confidence - all in a creative environment that will provide an inside view of our legal system.

Students will:

  -Develop team building skills as they work with their group on their side of the case

  -Develop investigative and problem solving abilities

  -Learn to analyze the facts and develop quick-thinking skills

  -Learn how to present compelling arguments, questions, and answers

  -Learn trial procedure and the rules of evidence

  -Have a rollicking good time with their team and fellow competitors preparing for the

    Mock Trial Competition to be held the last day of camp!

Great for students from all backgrounds, Mock Trial requires no previous knowledge or speaking experience.

        Houston Baptist University is a Christian liberal arts university dedicated to the development of the intellect, the moral character, and the spiritual lives of its students. HBU offers what few other faith-based colleges or universities can - a dynamic learning environment on a diverse, real-world campus located in one of the nation's largest and most international cities.

        Held as a day camp (see schedule for complete details) HBU is offering overnight accommodations for those who wish to stay on campus - a parent/adult chaperone is required to stay with the student/s on campus overnight.

Area attractions abound for chaperone/sibling enjoyment.

Camp Cost: $225.00

Cost includes lunch for 3 days, Thursday evening cook-out, and Sat. Banquet

Overnight accommodations: $25.00 per room per night (not per guest)

Guests are to provide own linens. Breakfasts and evening meals are responsibility of guests. Meals may be purchased in the school cafeteria or at local restaurants.
